Edmontonians love the Sherlocks Hospitality Group! The three Sherlocks locations are strategically located in downtown, University of Alberta, and Sherwood Park with Duggan’s Boundary serving the Bonnie Doon neighborhood.

Sherlocks is definitely doing something right since they were entrusted with the David’s Dry Rib recipe. Generation Z, Millennials, and anyone who moved here in the past 30 years may not be familiar with David’s Restaurant and Lounge but it was the hot spot for the championship Oilers in the 1980’s. And back then NHL players ate ribs and pasta before games, drank and smoked during the intermissions, and partied after wins or losses. David’s Dry Ribs were a local favourite and now that they’re back, maybe the Oilers will return to their winning legacy!

The newest addition to the group is the Sherwood Park location which opened in September 2020. It’s clear that a lot of skill and care went into this project. Upon entering the pub, guests are greeted with lofted ceilings and the large bar with plenty of seats around the wood. Comfortable booths with a good mixture of hightops and tables offer the diner their preferred seating. All of the VLT’s, some pub games, and more seating is available in the raised split level.

For those who like to drink and play pub games there is a perfect spot for darts and Golden Tee. It’s slightly tucked away where players won’t bother other patrons and there’s a nice ledge to rest the beers when it’s your turn.

Every Sherlocks location serves the Colleen’s Amber Ale in memory of the owner's wife. It’s not just any ale, it’s actually a custom recipe that has been replicated by Big Rock Brewery specifically for Sherlocks. Fifty cents from each Amber Ale sold is donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation for ovarian cancer research. Through the sale of the beer and their annual golf charity tournament, the Sherlocks group has donated over $150,000 to ovarian cancer research.

This local group of pubs is family operated, with an authentic Irish pub atmosphere, serves unique food and beers, and gives back to their community.
